A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME
Jethro’s story
Meet Jethro
Some dogs arrive at the shelter scared.
Some arrive injured.
Some arrive needing a second chance.
Jethro arrived needing all three.
This handsome boy came to us as a stray — injured, sick, frightened, and desperately needing someone to show him he was finally safe. We rushed him to the vet, where we discovered that this young guy, estimated to be just 2-3 years old, was carrying more than his fair share of burdens. He had a leg injury, hip issues, overgrown nails, skin left raw from fleas, and very little confidence in the world around him.
Since then, we've been working hard to help him heal.
With pain management, proper care, and plenty of love, Jethro is walking a little better every day. His fur is growing back, his eyes are brighter, and his personality is beginning to shine through. Beneath all of the hurt is a sweet, lovable dog who wants nothing more than to feel safe and loved.
But shelter life is taking its toll.
Some dogs adapt well to the constant noise and activity. Jethro isn't one of them.
The stress of kennel life has him barking, pacing, and struggling to relax. We worry that the daily stress and activity could worsen his existing injuries and hip problems. What Jethro truly needs isn't another day in a kennel — it's a quiet home, a soft bed, and a family willing to help him continue healing both physically and emotionally.
Jethro would do best as the only pet in the home. We know that makes finding a home more difficult, especially when so many families already have pets of their own. But right now, Jethro needs a family that can focus on him, his recovery, and helping him rebuild the confidence that life has taken from him. He deserves the chance to be someone's priority while he continues to heal.
Unlike most strays, Jethro came to us already neutered. He's received the medical care he needed, and now the only thing missing is a place to call home.
He has survived being injured.
He has survived being alone.
Now he deserves the chance to simply be someone's dog.
If you're looking for a loyal companion and have room in your heart for a dog who just needs a peaceful place to land, Jethro is waiting.
Let's find this deserving boy the happy ending he's been waiting for.
