Meet Trotter.

Meet Trotter — Our Little Oklahoma Hitchhiker!

Trotter came to us after the dog warden found him hitchhiking around Montrose, looking for a safe place to rest his paws. Although he had a registered microchip, sadly, our phone calls were never returned, and no one ever reached out looking for him.

So now, Trotter is starting a brand-new journey.

Formerly known as Fat Boy, Trotter originally hails all the way from Oklahoma and somehow made his way to Montrose, Pennsylvania. We may never know every stop along his journey, but we do know that he's safe with us now — and we're hoping his next destination will be a forever home.

Trotter is approximately 3-4 years old and appears to be a pittie/cattle dog mix. He's scheduled to be neutered and is being brought up to date on his vaccines. We haven't had the chance to officially test him with dogs, cats, or children just yet, but that's on our to-do list very soon!

What we already know is that Trotter is one happy-go-lucky boy who absolutely loves attention. He's friendly, affectionate, and just wants to be wherever his people are. He's doing his very best to stay housebroken, although maintaining those good habits can be tough in a busy shelter environment.

Trotter has spent his life knowing what it's like to live in a home, and we would love nothing more than to get him back into one as quickly as possible. A kennel shouldn't be the final stop on this boy's journey.

He's traveled a long way. Now he just needs someone to show him that he's finally home.

Could Trotter's next ride be with you?
