Prax, Tseera & Hagie — A Family That Has Already Lost So Much
Some stories are harder to tell than others.
Prax, Tseera, and Hagie came to us after the passing of the only person they had ever known. Their story is one of heartbreak, loyalty, and resilience.
A little over a year ago, their owner found herself homeless. Despite her circumstances, she never gave up on her dogs. She was determined to keep them safe and cared for no matter what life threw at her. Along the way, she met a kindhearted gentleman who opened his property to them, providing a roof over her head and a place for the dogs to stay.
The trio lived together in a shed that was fixed up as best as possible — a humble home, but one filled with love.
When their owner unexpectedly passed away, the gentleman did everything he could to care for them. But he knew he was in over his head and could not provide the long-term care they deserved. That's when we stepped in.
Hagie is the matriarch of the family at approximately 12-13 years old.
Tseera, Hagie's daughter, is 4 years old.
Both girls are spayed and ready to find a home.
Prax is their 4-year-old "brother," a handsome Great Pyrenees who will be neutered as soon as possible.
While all three are bonded, the connection between Hagie and Tseera is truly something special. Everything they do is in sync. They eat together, rest together, explore together, and find comfort in one another. Watching them is watching a family.
We know what we're asking when we hope to keep any of them together. Finding a home willing to take a bonded pair — or even all three — isn't easy. But after everything they've already endured, we have to try.
Their entire world lights up when they're reunited. In a shelter environment, it's impossible not to see how much comfort they draw from one another.
Like many dogs who have experienced loss and uncertainty, they can be protective of each other and currently don't seem particularly fond of other dogs. We're working with them and helping them learn that they are safe, but their future family should be prepared to give them time, patience, and understanding.
They have already lost their home.
They have already lost their person.
We're hoping they don't have to lose each other too.
If you have room in your heart and home for this special family, please reach out. Let's give them the second chance they deserve.
